Re: Performance Testing Challenges
Hi,
There are a few basic challenges faced by any performance tester even though the tool worked on might differ. These are -
1) Understanding the System under test and creating a Performance Test
Plan or Approach document.
2) Setting up the performance environment including proxy bypassing,
connecting to Server under test. (Most Important)
3) Conducting a POC of Dry run to ensure connectivity to the Server under
test and to check if valid responses are fetched back.
4) Creating a workload matrix consisting of the Performance counters to be
measured and the User load matrix.
5) Configuring Data required for iterating Users.
6) Based on POC, creating baselines for further test runs.
Also based on the success of your POC, you would have to take a call on Tool Finalization.
Cheers.....

Re: Performance Testing Challenges
Well, this is a very generic question. The interviewer wants to access how advanced you are in Performance Testing concepts. There are numerous challenges in Performance Testing (some already mentioned in the previous post) but you should have had some idea if you were being presented for the interview. The answer is that it depends and one's challenges may/may not be the same ones that you faced in your project.
Why don't you first tell us what you answered to the Interviewer?
