NEED HELP
1) I can not get into DataStage Administrator after trying a lot. I give the Host Name or Name of my computer, and I did not give the User Name & Password then I get the error like this
Failed to connect to host: ishaq, project: UV
(The host name specified is not valid, or the host is not responding (81011))

2)When I give the Host Name User Name & Password then I get the error like this
Failed to connect to host: ishaq, project: UV
(The host name specified is not valid, or the host is not responding (81011))

To solve this problems, I Installed the DataStage 7.5.1, atleast seven times, after this all still I did not get enter into the DataStage Administrator then I format the System, and Re Installed every thing once again from the beginning, then again Installed the DataStage, still I have the same problem, I can not get enter into the DataStage Administrator till now.
I am sure, I have Windows XP SP2 Installed on P4 System

Which Operating system you are using XP ?
OK try following things
1) Install latest Service pack on XP
2) Install it on Windows 2000 Server wih latest SP4 or 5
3) Install Clients & Server on different drives
4) Try installing Clients first

5) Check your RAM capability or do define some virtual memory
6) Give and see host name as 'localhost'

What is the latest version in Data Stage?

The latest version of Datastage is 8.0

I hope this question would help at least those who are still facing this issue::::
1)Always give hostname as localhost.
2)Enter the username and its password that you used while installing DS. THis should be an administrator with unrestricted rights.
3)In caseyou didnt have a pasword with the username, create a new one...this is absolutely necessary...
4)The DS sometimes donts run if you are using some other username (admin2) other than what you used to install the DS.

Can anyone answer these questions? Would be very helpful for a guy who is new to Datastage..

which questions? the ones at the top or the login issue?

@login issue-----install DS with admin rights on the local domain of the computer.....If you are connected to any domain/network, then you must have admin rights on the domain...if your system is standalone...then you need not worry...just be an admin.
after you have installed DS, you would need to start the DS service....esp. the DSRPCD service and DS service.Telnet service is not mandatory.
in version 8.0 you would need to specify the port name as well on which DS/IS server is listening.
