Re: abt object repository,virtual objects
Obj repository:- It is a collection of obj captured /learned from application under test. This repository helps QTP environment to recognise obj in application under test and recognise the obj.It is also used to write the manual prog without recording

Re: abt object repository,virtual objects
What you have give description is correct. But what you said Object Repository is not used writing manual program with out recording.. Is NOT CORRECT.
Manual program (Discriptive programing) will be use when we dont want to use object repository.

Re: abt object repository,virtual objects
Hi suresh, in addition to what rajaputra said, i am adding the missing part of the question - a virtual object is created when an automation tool cannot recognize the object in its present state and properties. For instance working with certain windows(api) objects which are not custom objects, complex objects etc qtp would not be able to recognize the same. In such instances we create a virtual object which encapsulates the original object. We then map the virtual object to an existing class of objects listed in qtp - windows standard objects, java objects etc. This mapping is done using the virtual object wizard this enables qtp to recognize the virtual object as though it is a custom standard object and proceed ahead with flow. Cheers..... Umesh. Bizzzzzare
