    Question Which is efficient

When I was coding my application in ASP.NET I got a query namely is it efficient and best to use error handling techniques explicitly by using user defined error handling methods or functions or is it best and efficient top use system define error messages? Kindly suggest me the best of the two and also state me the reason for that.

    Re: Which is efficient

I would suggest that the efficient way is to use error handling techniques explicitly by using user defined error handling methods. There are many reasons for this. One of the vital reason is by this it would be possible for the user or the programmer to define error messages user-friendly in a descriptive manner.

    Re: Which is efficient

From end user perspective, its always better that we(pgmers) explicitly handle the exceptions with user defined codes and descriptions. Eg: .net exception-messages like "divide by zero error" or "object reference not set to instance of an object" or "file not found errors" are too techie to present them to the end user.

From End users perspective, its better that we handle the Exceptions explicitly, with user defined error codes and descriptions.
    Because, .Net exception messages like
    "Divide by Zero Error",
"Object reference not set to instance of an Object" ,
    "File not found error"
    etc
    - are too techinical for an end user to understand.
