Garbage Collection is an important attribute in any object oriented programming language. I want to know what are the methods or functions used in ASP.NET to achieve this important concept.

The garbage collector (GC) of .NET completely absolves the developer from tracking memory usage and knowing when to free memory.Every data type used in .NET software includes metadata that describes it. With the help of metadata, the CLR knows the layout of each of the objects in memory, which helps the Garbage Collector in the compaction phase of Garbage collection.
