Re: HR question
Hi Sakshi,
See nowhere you will get hard coded answers for questions you posted. But keep in mind the approach and the way to answer them.
1. Why should we hire you?
Tell the HR that "Looking at my knowledge, education, experience, skills ,
certification and/or Domain knowledge etc... and as I am sincere, honest
and dedicated towards my job. So I think I am the most suitable
canditate for this post/ requirement.
2. What will you do for the growth of the company?
Tell that " You can expect a consistent good quality work and on time
delivery/completion of the allocated task from me. I will try my best to not
only meet but also to exceed the expectations. Will always work as good
team member & co-operation with other team member. By doing so I think
the projects & team will give better performance which will definetely help
the company to grow and do a better business.
3. What are your weakness and strengths?
Strengths: Tell about your experience, skills, certifications if any like
ISTQB, any achievements or awards you got, etc.
Weakness: BE CAREFULL while answering this question. Dont ever tell your
real weakness but you can tell like " I usually complete my
work 1 or 2 days before the scheduled deadline" or something
which least importance for your professional work/job.
4. What was a problem you had in your previous assignment (testing if
possible means any critical bug you found)? How did you resolve it?
If I am not wrong this is a technical question rather that HR. :-)
Anyways as even I am a Software tester, and I think even you are.
So, here you can tell him/her about any critical bugs or something
showstopper defects that you found/raised earlier. You can also tell about
any issue/problem that you were facing earlier and the changes or
improvements that you had suggested in testing processes or in
application/software which was ofcourse a significant one.
Cheers, :-)

Re: HR question
Sakshi,
HR peoples look for some smart answers for such kind of questions. You need to thing out of box in order to impress them and get you selected. Let me give you some hints here on how you can answer such questions:
Why should we hire you?
Here most of them will only speak about their experience, certifications, educational details saying I was school topper etc...thats past....you should speak about how you will benefit the company you will be joining. In short how will you benefit them? that is what they really want to know and not about your past. Your experience details are there in your resume, so you need not tell them what they really know about you.
What will you do for the growth of the company?
Coming to this point, it would really help if you know about how the company is growing and what are the management standards followed by the company, for eg six sigma, cmmi certified etc which are helping them grow in the market. Once you know about the growth rate of the company, you can say you will indulge yourself learning the different tools that would help serve the customers in the best way and with 100% on time delivery, best performance etc. What ever you have to do is to do only and only for the customers. so customers are happy your company will be very happy and inturn you will be very very happy
What are your weakness and strengths?
Strength: Say something unique if possible. Else you can talk abt saying you are flexible, good at time management, can handle umltiple projects at a same time etc and positive, confident, self motivated etc
Weakness: Here you should tell in such a way that the weakness itself becomes a strength. But make sure if you say good time management in your sterngths then dont contradict saying you are not good at maintaining professional/personal life balance and you will tyr to improve youreslf by giving more than 100% to your proferssional life and also spend time for your personal life as well. Make sure what you are speaking for these question
What was a problem you had in your previous assignment (testing if possible means any critical bug you found)? How did you resolve it?
Here they are trying to check your problem solving ability to how and what you do if you do not find a solution. you can say that you tested various options but when it did not work you referred some tech books, internet and did some resarch and self study on the issue and consulted expert team in the office to find out a solution and finally you resolved it. They are interested in knowing your approach rather listing few issues and saying you solved it happliy without any pain
So, Hope this tips help you for your interview and all the best for your interview. Do let us know once you get through in your interview.
Thanks
Amit
