This first type of testing we perform when the application or built is upadated in the testing environment is Adhoc Testing . Testing an application in order to check whether the application is ready for further testing or not . This testing can be done under uncontrolled conditions .Adhoc testing is also called Sanity testing or built verification testing.
wat is the diffrence between sanity and smoke testing??
Hi,
If you are given any application and got instructions to test that:
1.Look to the application and try to understand what it is all about
2.If you got test cases regarding that application, obvious u can execute those to understand the flow and the functionality of application.
3.If you are not given any test cases ,then check whether you are given any basic requirements ,otherwise do some exploratory testing (Exploratory testing is nothing but testing with out requirements)
4.Lastly ,if nothing is there with you except the application,do some monkey testing/adhoc testing(means that test that application in your view)
Thanks
Krishna
