Advertisement. Do you see the tag "Sponsered Links" on the right hand side every time you try to search? Each time you click them you are earning google revenues.

They also have Ad-Sense modules which anyone can install in thier sites. They will give you some money for hosting the ads, but a major chunk of the ad-money goes into google's pockets.

Yes. There are many types of web ads like Pay-Per-View(PPV) and Pay-Per-click(PPC). In PPV, if the page containing the ad is viewed, the person who is placing the ad is billed. In PPC, as soon as the ad is clicked, the person placing the ad is billed.

Google has a counter which will count these ads for individual members, and there will be a predefined fixed rate for ads which varies from ad to ad. And the person placing the ad needs to pay google for displaying their ads.

    Thanks for that reply....

But doubts are still flowing....this may sound silly

But I cant keep my self from asking doubts?????

In that case google themselves can increase the income by just clicking/viewing
    (Sounds really silly right??)

Or does their counter will not count them??

Well, there are a lot of checks on this. Google's ethicality is unquestionable. SO leave that aside.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Google will give these ads to other sites(It can be your own site). And google will share a portion of the ad profit with you if you host thier ads. This is called Google Adsense.

Well, here there are a lot of checks like IPAdress from where the click came from. If a lot of clicks come from the same IP that means, that the person is spamming! So, he'll be banned for life from osting the ads.

Also the one who holds ad-sense account can never click on the ads. (That is, if you hold the sote and host adsense there, you can't click on your own sites ads).

But well. You got it right. Google is still fighting spamming. And this business model is revolutionary. (A brand new concept). It has got even M$ sweating.

But yes. Google is facing problems of spamming thier ads.

I think this is not correct.

Spamming is the term used to describe techniques that might be used to 'trick' search engines into ranking a website high up in their search results - such as the repetitive use of keywords, hidden text or keywords unrelated to the site's content.

I see a lot of difference.

Lack of WILL POWER has caused more failure than
    lack of INTELLIGENCE or ABILITY.

    No. Not exacty.
Spamming can be used in many contexts. For example, if you start posting irrelevant things in this forum just for the heck of post count, it is spamming. If I flood your Inbox with junk mails, it is spamming. If I create artificial congestion by hitting on a site, it is spamming.

Spamming has become more of a general term these days. Here's the dictionary meaning of the word "spam" with respect to computing.

    spam (COMPUTING) Show phonetics
    noun [U] INFORMAL DISAPPROVING
    unwanted email, usually advertisements

    spam Show phonetics
    verb [T] -mm-
to send someone an advertisement by email that they do not want
As far as I know, spam can be use dtin this context.

In any case, which better word can describe this crime?
"If a lot of clicks come from the same IP that means, that the person is ********!"????
What do we call this offence then?

    Still doubts flowing!!

If a user clicks the ads so many times and he is found to be spammer...Then
1.Wont his clicks be counted further??
2.Or he will be banned from hosting ads in the future??
    3.or both??

Well, if he is the one who is hosting the ads, then the hosting account will be banned.

By default, whoever over clicks on the ads, the site owner will be looked at with a suspecious eye as he might be the one fabricating the clicks. But, if he claims, he has got nothing to do with it, then that IP Address will be banned(as far as I know). Which means, no clicks from that IP address which fabricated the number of clicks will be counted towards revenue.
