Pros and Cons of Online Universities
Pros and Cons of Online Universities
One of the many ways you can achieve a quality education is by taking courses at an online university or distance learning program. Thousands of students are now opting for an online education. However, it should be noted that not every student will be satisfied with an online education. If you are thinking about enrolling in an online university, here are some tips on the pros and cons of online universities.
Obviously, one of the great reasons to enroll in online universities is their convenience. For the most part, online universities offer great curriculums and educational resources and are the perfect way to receive an education at the convenience of the student. For instance, if you have a full time job or family obligations, online universities can easily work around your schedule, causing you little if any inconvenience.
Online universities are also more affordable than traditional schools. For instance, most online institutions don’t’ have to worry about classrooms, or social life budgets. They can just focus on the curriculum.
The cons of online university are that if you are a student, you will miss out on the social aspect of school. Most students that attend traditional universities are extremely happy that they took the time to go to school, not only for the education, but for all the friends they met, and all the social skills they learned.
Another negative regarding online universities is that most employers will look down on online universities; they may not be familiar with the name of the school and may think that it is a diploma mill. If you are looking to enroll in an online university, check out the pros and cons above before making your decision.

Pros: you can study anywhere at anytime and can fit schooling in between work, parenting etc.
Cons: there is no in person support, no in person study groups, have to be more disciplined
