    Cool data retriving simultaniously

    hi i had a problem ..........
    i have two tables with some diff no of col's

    here my problem is i have to get the data from each table simultaniously and i have to place the data in a third table......
    but it is in a way that the first row in the third table contains the data from the first table and the second row contains the data from second table.....

    how to do it please let me know as quickly as possible...........

    We can insert records using UNION.
    Use NULL in the place of missing column names.

    select col1, col2, col3 from tab1
    union
    select col1, NULL, NULL from tab2
