Thread: What does this mean!!

Hi friends,

I came across a strange thing today. There was a query

select *from emp order by name,sal --

I dnt know what does -- stand for in the above query. I couldnt find out the difference with -- or without --. Please help me understand this.

-- is not part of the syntax.

-- anything after the double-hyphen is a comment in DB2

thanks buddy, You are helpful.

We use -- in QMF/QMF for WIndows/SPUFI to comment out any thing.

He must have started to type comments about an SQL left the -- in there
