    Please tell me difference between windows and linux.

    1.0 Windows is a proprietary os
    1.0 linux is published under gnu/gpl v2.0 licence

    2.0 windows is a closed source os
    2.0 linux is an open source system

    3.0 windows uses ntfs or fat file structure
    3.0 linux uses ext3fs,ext2fs

    4.0 in windows "administrator" is the root
    4.0 in linux "root" is the root

    5.0 windows is developed by only
    5.0 microsoft linux is a community driven os

    linux has kernal known as "linux kernal" which is unix based.that is why it is a strong os .strong against viruses.but windows is not.

    linux is open source software you can modify the source code .windows is copyrighted
