Relation between QTP and VB Script

Hi,

QTP is mostly playing with objects..recognizing them and handling them..How much knowledge of VB Scripting does one need, to work on QTP...Does knowledge of scripting only required from logical point of view ??
or one has to be an expert in VBScripting??
