    performance tuning

    Hi

    Can anyone tell me the process how to check the performance and validity of data displayed on report in Cognos?

    Hi,

    U can directly fire the query onto the database and see it.

    Hi Bindu,

    You can tune a report for performance enhancement by doing lot of things.
    Some points are
    1)allow local access cache
    2)designing of prompt page, use a single query for all the prompts if possible, but use as much as less number of queries
    3)framework manager model contributes more than any other thing, so try to have clean model which improves performance.
    4) avoid using conditional formatting extensively
    5)Choose query processing to limited local or database level depending on the report requirements

    And about validation u need to write simplifies queries in database with the available query submitting application and need to check forthe row counts and data consistency with the report output.
