Almost all companies are preferring Business Objects n Cognos. Client will select the tool according to their requirements and budget. Every tool is having its own specialties, pros n cons.
let us take, SAS, SPSS - these are statistical analysis tools and the other tools like
Business Objects, Cognos, Essbase, Brio, etc.. are comes into Business Intelligence tools. I can say that BO n COGNOS are the best OLAP Tools.

In xml only a single table report can be viewed in bo multidimensional report can be viewed any changes in source file ,they can't update in report in cognos number of table report can be viewed,any updaes occur in source file, they directly update in report
