I guess,

We can test a firewall with various possible ways in which a hacker may try to break it.

We will have to follow hacking techniques to try and break the firewall security.

Firewall can be identified when people in our network will have different types of access to internet, for example we have no access and one person of our lead will have accessing mail means there is a firewall which is used to block the access.
