    Area of Rectangle

    Rectangle ABCD has sides AB and BC in the ratio 3 : 1. If the diagonal AC is 5,
    then find the area of the rectangle.

    From the given data I got the length of the rectangle as 15 and breadth as 5. So area of the rectangle is 75.

    Let us say length of AB and BC are 3a,a. Then area of the rectagle is 3a^2.

    By pythagoras theorem, 9a^2 + a^2 = 5^2
    => 10 a^2 = 25
    => a^2 = 2.5

    therefore area of the rectanga is 7.5 Square units.
