    How RTM is maintained when we write the negative testcases

    Requirement tracebility matrix is maintained to see all req in the used case has got the testcases but how RTM is maintained when we write the negative testcases on the scenarios in the used cases?

    The BASIC purpose of the RTM is to maintain whether the each Business Requirement is tested or not. RTM is a template which relates all the points like | BRD ID | Req.ID | Test Case ID |... etc (template may differ wrt to Org).
    Through which Client/Manager/Tester... will have a evidence that the overall applicaiton requirements are covered and Tested.

    A requirement is said to be covered only when both positive and negative test cases has been written.
