Re: difference between entrance and sign on criteria

    Hi Dear,

I think that you are using the Wrong name, it should be Exit Criteria and not the Sign ON Criteria (please confirm). There are tow types :-

    1) Entrance Criteria means what all things you must have accomplished/finished in the previous phase before entering into the next phase. For example, the entrance criteria for the product/software to be moved to the testing enviroment for testing is that the Unit test cases should have been written, bugs found during UNIT TESTING should have been logged properly, unit test bugs logged should have been fixed, performance testing to an extent shoiuld have been done etc.

    2) Exit Criteria means that what all things you need to do/accomplish in the present phase to exit this phase and move onto the next phase. For example, the present phase is Testing and the next phase is UAT. Now the exit criterias will be Functional test cases should have been written, bugs logged and fixed, bugs should be traceable, Traceability Matrix, Test Reports, SignOff documents etc.

Hope this is clear to you.

    Thanks,
    Nikhar
