What are the basic things a person should acquire,before using QTP tool

Hi friends,

I sounds good in manual testing but i am not having any knowledge in automation testing. I would like to learn QTP. Can any one of you please help me. Just tell me the basic criteria that a person should learn before using QTP Tool.If possible provide me the URL.

If you learn or know VB SCript then it will be easier for you to explore QTP in a quicker time frame.

Hi Sudha,

As Sridhar stated a basic knowledge of VbScript would definitely help you in getting familiar with QTP tool.

I would suggest you download the trial version of QTP from Mercury Site. To start with basic VBScript, please refer to the Help - QTP Professional Help.

Under Contents, there is a index heading pertaining to VBScript. Refer to UserGuide listed under this. It basically highlights the Variable declaration, arrays, looping, Procedures , Coding conventions etc.

Once this is complete, I would suggest start of with simple Record and playback to better understand the way QTP works.
