What are the requirements for installing AD on a new server?

can u tell about the expalanation of AD and which type of server

Ys you need windows server operating system & this should be on the network. Means you have to assign a ip address to this machine, which can communicate to others. These are the requirement to install ad. You can install loopback apater for self-pinging, if you have one machine & you want to do it for practical only. Thanks & regards mohit sharma

you need the Cd rom ,windows server 2003 cd , RAM 256 ( better 1 gb) ,CPU 700 Mhz (P IV or More Better) , hdd 40gb with NTFS format

u can install on a singal pc also with the help of loop back addapter.

First you have to install DNS in same server or another server & set the ip address of DNS Server in IP configuration window & then go to start..Run & type dcpromo command. when installing Active Directory you need to OS CD to complete the AD installation.

minimum requirements to install AD , u need to install server operating installation either windows2000/20003/2008,static IP address and DNS installation that can be availablethrough windows components
