Select round (basic*0.5/100) from pay here problem is that when basic=6500 then it return value=32 but roundoff value should come 33. plz solve this problem (PgAdmin database is used)

can't understand what u want.
SQL> Select round (6500*0.5/100) from dual;
ROUND(6500*0.5/100)
-------------------
33
SQL> Select (6500*0.5/100)from dual;
(6500*0.5/100)
--------------
32.5
you are already used ROUND function also, why it is not working. can't understand what u want.
if you are using round() ,how come it returns 32.5 .it should display 33.
may be ur confused with the trunc and round function. coz only with trunc 32 can be the solution but not with round.
