How do I find a column with knowing that table name

How do i find a column with knowing that table name?
I want to modify the column but i dont no the table name.....
how do i get rid of this?
Is there any oracle sys command to do such....

you mean to say u know the tcolumn name but not the table name .

right ?

You can use this query
[CODE]select table_name from user_tab_columns where column_name= upper('column_name') [/CODE]
note:-but if the same column name repeats in multiple tables ,it will show more than one table.
