When will be we going to use Step Generator?How to use it?

Could someone let me know the answer?

Steps generator is used to insert coding statements with the help of GUI window. You do not need to remember syntax.

Goto Insert-> Step Generator
select category, object, operation and any arguments then click ok. Step is inserted into your code

The Step Generator dialog box helps you add steps that use test object methods, Utility object methods, and function calls, so that you do not need to memorize syntax or to be proficient in high-level VBScript. You can use the Step Generator from the Keyword View and also from the Expert View.

This is basically for the person who has less knowledge in scripting but in a position to use scripting.

Open QTP
Insert-> step Generator

Category= utility objects (from drop down list)
Object=System util
operation= Run

Arguments
File: value=IEXPLORE.EXE
params: value=www.google.com

click on insert (if you are using QTP9.5)
click on ok (if you are using Qtp10)

in your script you will see the step

SystemUtil.Run "IEXPLORE.EXE", "www.google.com"

run the script

if u want to give the search condition in Google, you have to add objects in object repository.
