Backup information in RMAN CATALOG DATABASE

Hi sir/madam

I got 4 databases in my server. I want to store the backup information in RMAN CATALOG DATABASE. I created CATALOG database for the first database. How to add the rest of the 3 databases into CATALOG database.

Register 3 databases in a catalog

$RMAN catalog=username/password@string target=username/password@string


RMAN>register database;

like wise u can register all databases.

first edit the tnsnames.ora file and make an entry for the RMAN Catalog database.
rman catalog <rman_user>/password@rman_DBNAME
RMAN>target sys/password@databasename
RMAN> register database;

set the database environment
then type

rman target / catalog rman@CATALOGDB_NAME
enter the passwd:

RMAN>register database;
