Automation Testing

Does automation testing comes under white box or black box testing? Or is it separate type of testing?

Testing can be of 2 types depending on [B]who[/B] does it.

White-Box testing is done by the [B]development[/B] team and Black-Box testing is done by the [B]testing[/B] team.


Testing can also be categorized into Manual or Automation depending on [B]how[/B] it is done.:eek:

[B]Manual testing is applying the test cases manually by using the s/w build as an end-user would use it. Automation Testing is executing test scripts that apply test cases on the s/w build.[/B]

Both development and testing teams may use automation tools for their respective jobs in which case it can be called automation testing.:D

Every testing tool available in market is basically for functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
These comes under black box testing.

As per my knowledge there are no automated tools for white box testing in the market.

Correct me if I am wrong. Also kindly provide me the list of white box automation testing tools.
