How can i know iam in home page of the application/webapp using QTP?
hai friend,
Just identify the object in the home page so that you can identify whether you are in the home page or not. Here in the below example I am assuming that I have an image in the home page.
for ex:
If Browser("B").Page("P").Image("home").exist Then
Reporter.reportEvent micPass,"Home Page",Navigated to home Page"
else
Reporter.reportEvent micFail,"Home Page",Not navigated to home Page"

Mostly the home page has only absolute address. I mean it will be link http://www.geekinterview.com/ and nothing after http://www.geekinterview.com. So you can compare you current url and find out it's a home page or not. But in some of the cases it like http://www.geekinterview.com/index.html or http://www.geekinterview.com/homepage.html so what you can do is you can enter the absolute path i mean http://www.geekinterview.com/ in the browser and then whatever comes in the reply will be the address of your home page. Now you can compare this address with your page's address to verify whether it is a homepage or not.
