Internet has made tremendous impact in our day-to-day life, yet it leaves several aspects for consideration. From giving total control over being anonymous to being net addicted, From being a resource treasure trove to seriously altering childs psychology - Internet has made an impact tremendously. How it has affected you? Is it really a boon or a bane.

Every new technology brings with it its own advantages and disadvantages!
One who understands the purpose of it, for which it is made,then its a boon,otherwise a bane!
Internet ofcourse has made communication easier! Had there been no internet ,
do u think v would have been able to share our knowledge so easily!
From writing mails to our dear ones ,to searching info of our choice is simply a click away!I think i have made my opinion clear!

i agree with you that Internet is a boon but it's not good to talk without put light on the otherside too.
tell me any other benefit except communication through internet.
there r innumberable bane while using the Internet. Could u think little.

u r right that internet has some diadvantages too!Butthats y i wrote in my previous post that each tech bring with it ,its own advantages as well as disadvantages.The pt is tha v have to use it properly,so that u can gain something.
But if u say internet has some disadvantages,then this is the case with every invention.Say eg bike,car ---increased road accidents,pollution.
mobiles -----mms, talking while driving etc et.
The list is endless, and u think of a technology, and u can find setbacks associated with it.But the pt is that v have to use them properly.
Now u asked abt advantages of internet.Apart from communication made easier ,there are many other advantages too!
eg e-banking,online shopping etc etc.U can reserve ur train tickets through internet.
U can host ur own websites.
online tutions
online chat
downloading s/w
talk to ur dear ones more cheaply.

As i am in networking field securing the internet, i should answer for Dipak's question "any other benefit [B]except communication[/B]"... Communication...other than that what is happening in this world. From hai to bye, each and every thing is only thru communication. If we start saying internet is boon, this has infinite poistive points which will beat the disadvantages of internet.
For example, right now, mobile is one of the most valuable devices, especially camera mobiles.
1. Taking valuable photos, natural things, sharing that with all ur friends, discussing if it is related technology, R&D, increasing ur thoughts etc.
2. Taking illegal photos, sharing only with ur close ones, hiding that from others, nothing to think from that, no tech.
[B]Which one will u choose?. [/B]
The same in discussing about internet.
1. As shenoy says, Using internet, studing the old and new technologies, upgrading the new features, sharing the tech thoughts, side by side funny things, joking, mind freshing by seeing nice photos, reading funny mails laughing, ....applying jobs thru internet, Getting the job, thanking, surfing the details for the project, appreciation in the office, checking the credited salary details, happily sending the money to ur parents....becoming a hero to all....Discussing like this etc.......
2. Using internet, simply seeing unwanted illegal mails and photos, simply saying hai, how r u, bye, signout, shutdown.

The internet is boon or bane is based on the usage.
From my point of view, some people like students who are new to the internet, will use it wrongly (80%), because they dont have that much knowlegde on the usage of the internet and also due to some other wrong ways and friends....but the same students after finishing their schoolings, college, searching the title for the degree project, searching for the job, preparing their resumes,....now, 80% they will use the internet in a right way.
And they who knows how to sue the internet will surely say, the internet is boon, not a bane.

Internet is definetly a boon because it has shrinked world to our pocket. This helps people not only to communicate but also helps as a source of income for many people. All inventions starting from radio till atoms and till date invetions would have a darker side as well as brigter side. It only depends on the person to make the right usage of the techogy or invention to benefit the
brighter side. So Internet is definetly a boon.

well internet is definately is a boon...
we are communicating because of internet only...it had made life so easy with respect to searching things , buying something , playing ,communicating etc...
now we can't imagine our life without internet..we can get everything on the net...just we should know how to get it...
i know everything has some disadvantages too and same applies in this case but the advantages takes over easily....
so i will say internet is a boon without any question......
internet is offcourse a boon.There are many things that are available though internet for instance e shopping,emailing etc which has infact reduced our work to some extent and also there are various things like suppose consider this site ...... we inherit knowledge from this site and various usefull things like aptitude questions,quizes etc which we cant think of in real life which would have obviously cost us more bucks......this all is possible only because of internet and in such a case obviously its a boon .......also consider sites where u meet ur frnds who stay away from ya or may be who lives in some different country ....u can be in touch with them through emails or messenger or may be some social networking sites which provides these types of options .............. in todays world internet has been a boon .
also considering negative points in this discussion there are various factors which can be used in favour of internet's misuses such as pornography,hacking accounts,illegal s/w downloads,copyright violations etc
