What is the diff b/w source qualifier transformation and application source qualifier transformation?

Source Qualifier: Qualifies the data of a Relational database like Oracle etc... Its mean source Qualifier works on all tables of only one database (the data which has already in the tables of that database).
Application Source Qualifier: Qualifies the data from some applications, like ERP tools etc.
