Error While Recording in QTP

While recording in QTP, no script is being generated, neither in the tree view nor in the expert view. What could be the problem?

its may be due bad script

r u recording in firefox??? If yes..u need to record in IE and run in any browser.

Hi all,
an another problem could be,
if you open your application (IE) first and then launch QTP then QTP won't recognize the application.
So it is a better practice to launch QTP first then the application.

Please let me know if i am wrong.
