Hi Manoj,
I appreciate that you have asked one of the good reasoning question.
Ans. would be : xof,gpy,hqz
I hope my answer would be right one. If not that's fine please send right one as well as send me some suggetions to improve and crack some interviews.
Thanks & Regards
NIkhil Rattan
Nikhil, it'll so nice if u share with us the way u followed for deriving the remaining sequence.
*** Mangai Varma ***
I think it should be the initial letters of some famous person name.

Hi Nikhil I think ur answer is not complete...
Thanks
Manoj:eek:
I think the answer is ...
oxf, gpy,qzh...
Explanation:
See the alternative letters of S,T,V,...is going the place like 1,2,3,2,3
A,B,C,...is going the place like 2,3,1,3,1
J,K,L,....is going the place like 3,1,2,1,2,
So the first series going 2,3 position and second series going 3,1 position and then final one going the position 1,2.
Its my guess...but i am not sure this is the correct one.

I think the answer is XFO.
Consider the first 3 sets.In that ABC,JKL,STU occupies different position.That is the position occupied by A is nt occupied by its sequence B or C upto the third set.
Assuming this logic., in the next set., DE has occupied the positions 1 and 3 and so F must occupy 2nd place.
Similarly., O should go to the last and X to the front..
Manoj must give the answer!!!
Hi Manoj,
The series is complete in the following way:
XFO, GPY, ZHQ
Hope the logic that i followed is correct.
Regards,
Srividya
Guyz everyone is giving correct answers not complete answer... But the solution is wrong all are assumptions and lot of break ups... Clue: dont bother about the position of a,b,c... In each set... I wanted to confuse thats y...:d let nikhil also give his solution...:d
One more clue "Find the commonality of characters in each category"
Thanks
Manoj
hi manoj
i have been trying to solve it since last 5 hrs or so...But i am getting no clue.
i also tried the same earlier(like others did),that is the position of a,b, etc etc...but ur clue didnot helped me that time.
this clue too , atleast for me seems to be of no help.Iam waiitng for answer now!
fully :confused:
bye
:)
answer is xfo?
Hi Shenoy u can find it...
Try to find the relation between A,J and S or B,K and T
We can wait for another 2 hours for nikhil's answer because he is the one who solved it first... After 2 hours i will give u a BIG CLUE...
d ans is xfo, pyg, hqz.
hi anchal
plz support ur answer with explaination too, sot hat i can understand it too.!
bye
:)
by the way, from ur clue manoj i got some thing to think upon, but iam not sure of ans.I think the ans is WEN
from left to right
SAJ 7,8,8, (these represents the no of characters b/w them)
i.e no of characters b/w S and A is 7 (Note not b/w A and S)
no of characters b/w A and J is 8
no of characters b/w J and S is 8
similarly
KTB 8,7,8
CLU 8,8,7
MVD 8,7,8
ENW 8,8,7
now 7,8,8 should repeat!
bye
:)
hello shenoy,
see 1st two members of series .. SAJ, KTB...
1st letter of 2nd member is d successor of 3rd letter of 1st member, i.e.,, K&J.
similarly, 2nd letter is always d sucessor of 1st letter of the previous member.. and 3rd letter is of middle letter.. i.e., T of S and B of A.
got it?:rolleyes:
hi anchal
Yes ,ur ans seems to b correct !
Ur way of thinking is good!
bye
:)
;) thanks...
Hey Anchal ur thinking is good... but if u carefully see ur solution wont work for CLU and MVD...
What i'm saying is all ur answers are correct but there is one more set of characters and all ur solution have some break up like Anchal...
BIG CLUE: You have to do some thing with the numerics behind it... for eg: A=1 and Z=26. Find the commonality?? Again i'm saying there is nothing to do with order of characters in each set... i changed the order just to confuse u guyz... Good LUCK:eek:
Thanks
Manoj
hi manoj,
then can u explain d ans?
Hi Guys,
Finally i got the answer.....
Next term in the series is fox,gpy,hqz,irza,jszb. The letters should be any order. It means the answer also like this oxf,yrg,szg,....
Explanation:
SAJ = S + A + J = 19+1+10 = 30
KTB = K + T + B = 11+20+2 = 33
CLU = C + L + U = 3+12+21 = 36
.
.
.
FOX = F + O + X = 6+15+24=45
GPY = G + P + Y = 7+16+25=48
HQZ = H + Q + Z = 8+17+26=51
IRZA = I + R + Z + A= 9+18+26+1=54
JSZB = J + S + Z + B = 10+19+26+2 =57
.
.
.

i got this answer using only his last clue..Its very difficult to found the answer if he didn't gave that one.....
---------------------
suresh
Hey Suresh ur great... Urs is also a correct answer...
I gave this puzzle for this answer...
There is one more way to solve this puzzle...
A-1
B-2
C-3
D-4
E-5
F-6
G-7
H-8
I-9
J-10=1+0=1
K-11=1+1=2
L-12=1+2=3
M-13=1+3=4
N-14=1+4=5
O-15=1+5=6
P-16=1+6=7
Q-17=1+7=8
R-18=1+8=9
S-19=1+9=10=1+0=1
T-20=2+0=2
U-21=2+1=3
V-22=2+2=4
W-23=2+3=5
X-24=2+4=6
Y-25=2+5=7
Z-26=2+6=8
Join all the 1,2,3 and so on
AJS,BKT,CLU,DMV,ENW,FOX,GPY,HQZ,IR
IR is missed in everyones answer...
Thanks
Manoj
Ohhhh Manoj,
What a brainteasing answer ?
But this is a very good and very very hard puzzle.....
Nice to going on...Keep it up....

suresh
hi manoj
this was one of the toughest puzzle i have ever seen!It was really good one!
very good ans by suresh too!
ask such puzzles more and more manoj!
bye
:)
i think the answer is "XFO" bcause consider in
s,t,u,v,w 1,2,3,2,3, and "X" has to be in first position
a,b,c,d,e it follows the series in the position 2,3,1,3 and next alpha has to be in "F" in second position
j,k,l,m,n 3,1,2,1,2 the next alphabet "O" is in 3rd position.
so da ans is "XFO"

Hi, i two got a clues... First clue: ----------------------------------- if we are taking numerical values od each alphabet and than adding tham by each other than the series will look like that: 30,33,36,39,42,45 and so on.. S a j having values : 19,1,10=> sototal will be 30 k t b having values: 11, 20, 2=> so total will be 33 and so on and as manoj was saying that dont think about the orders of alphabet than that doesn't matter that aplhabet is placed at the starting or at the end... I think u are conerntrating on the series value... Another clue: ------------------------------ one more thing which i had pointed out that is: s a j numeric value is: 19 1 10 =1 (this is the sum of the digits 19, 10, 1 which is 1) k t b numeric value is: 11 20 2 =2 (here sum of the digits is 2, see below) c l u numeric value is: 3 12 21 =3 here if we look the series value than we will notice that 19= 1+9= 10=1+0=1 same is we are taking 11= 1+1=2 , 20= 2+0 =2 and is we are taking 12=1+2=3 , 21=2+1= 3 is this right manoj? the series is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8......
SAJ,KTB,CLU,MVD,ENW,.....:eek:
