Yes you can do that , no need to go for any setting . You can directly use that to load data to the server from any client.
Hi debasis as sql loader is executed in command prompt how can we issue a command from client pc on to the server command prompt
ok, can you specify the exact situation / problem you are facing.
ya debasis.Upto now we use sql loader on server .on server in command prompt from bin location i issue the command
sqlldr scott/tiger@orecl control='xxx.ctl' ,data='xxx.dat',log='xxx.log'
and now from client pc where should i issue this command i.e in command prompt in which location
u r a bit confused man.
Try this..
Go to command prompt..
write
sqlplus.exe radar/mash4077@RAJAT
U will get the sql prompt..
here radar is the username mash4077 is the password and RAJAT is the database name.
In case u r still struck up search for the tnsora file in the folder where u installed oracle in ur desktop.Open tnsora in some text editor and see the entries there.Database name will be clearly mentioned there..
Good luck
ok , i got your problem.
No need to bother about the location to execute.
from SQL*PLUS type HOST
You will get the prompt ,there u need to execute the sql loader as usual you are doing .
hope that solves your problem.
if you still have doubts then do post back.
Thanks a lot debasis now i am clear about it .:)
