Run a program as a different user in XP
You can run a program as a different user without logging out and back in again. Right click on the program icon (exe), select Run As... and enter the user name and password you want to use. This only applies for that run. The trick is particularly useful if you need to have administrative permissions to install a program, which many require. Note that you can have some fun by running programs multiple times on the same system as different users, but this can have unforeseen effects.

Re: Run a program as a different user in XP
This is really fantastic to know. I tried this and could enjoy this.Lokesh thanks for such useful tip. I want to know is there any limitations on the number of different users.
Re: Run a program as a different user in XP
That 'run as' option needs admin access to that system.
I am not able to do that in my system allocated to me in my office.
Re: Run a program as a different user in XP
Rajiv, I am glad you liked it...
As for the limitation on number of different users, I am not sure about it
Thanks
Re: Run a program as a different user in XP
The number of different users that can run the same application must be as many as your memory configuration can support.
not sure, GUESSING :D
Re: Run a program as a different user in XP
sutnarcha, even I was guessing the same and was about to post my reply with the same thought. But let's see what is the real answer for this in this discussion.
Re: Run a program as a different user in XP
even I thing number apps should be limited only by the memory. Let me try at home today and post the results here ;-)
(Hope my system lives on after this :D )
Cheers,

P.S. : Shouldn't this thread be in Operating Systems> Windows forum????
