I would say no.Because as employees spend most of their time in their office then how could they have personal contacts with the outside world. So this suggestion would be really bad for staffs and I hope no staff would approve this in a company.
Attending personal calls can be allowed, but, that should be in their desk. This will disturb others work also. So, let them seperate from the team to attend the calls. Full restriction is not acceptable (it may be depends on work they are involved like banking etc). Time restrictions can be planned.
I will not agree with this... It's very difficult to make that happen.... and also it may be not allowed by law....
few companies started doing is pulling out the Internet and blocking the unwanted sites... that's where lot of people of wasting time browsing Internet without working....
not many people at work spend lot of time on cell phone anyway.. most of the time they will be quick calls.... They will be in trouble if their boss or other management people notices it...
Hi, i am sorry, i missed "not" in my thought in the line "Attending personal calls can be allowed, but, that should be in their desk.". Please read as follows:

I agree with anushya...
Making a call/attending a call is no way wrong as everybody has personal life other than professional life. Getting restricted to professional life may loose your personal life and that should not happen in any senses. After all, we are just humans, and professionals.
Until and unless you don't disturb your co guys (colleagues) with your calls/ answering them in a high pitch that breaks companies moral values and ethical values, any thing you do should not be an issue to anybody..
I would like to saywhat if ther were no mobiles then this issue would not have come...I want to say that when mobile were not there the calling process was less but people use to call (when) ,it was important .Now a days people are simply calling eachother and wasting their time and other's too.
Actually I wanna say that ,nowdays even advertisement of products and services are done through mobile and people are simply disturbed during office hours...
I strongly believe tha people should not be allowed to use mobiles, if it is very important then they should be contacted on landlines. We see people talking on phone in office hours simply and wasting their time and disturbing others. So their should be an end to this ..
The best solution is use of mobile should not be allowed inside the office premises and the office phone should be utilised for important matters.
Let me put a Question like this. How many Long hours can You work perfectly at your desk? If at all you are restricted without your mobiles, and you keep getting calls to your extensions/your landlines, don't you think you will have to stay at your work stations every moment without rest or relaxation? If you are out for a moment and got a call to your extension, don't you think that you need your collegues help in attending it.. Why should he/she bother to answer your personal call? Making a note of all the persons who is calling you and letting you know that when u r back.. Infact, You can't have your personal stuff chat in your extensons...

Hi all,
There should be no loose talks over the mobile phone during office hours, or otherwise using it is harmless. Being matured enough, such useless talks must be avoided,in any workplace. If the employees break the rules, the rules become even more stringent.
Hi all, full restriction is not acceptable.Attending personal calls is allowed ,but that should be in their desk. if the company doesnt allow means ,the company phone may be used for important matters.
