Currency Format

SELECT ryotnumber,to_char(sum((netweight*850)),'$ 99,999.99') as grossvalue
FROM cmscaneweighment
WHERE seasoncode='200607'
GROUP BY ryotnumber
ORDER BY grossvalue desc

In the above query if I give Rs instead of $ it is showing error message ORA - 01481 Invalid Number Format Model. How to display Rs before the number while diplaying the output?

alter session set nls_currency=Rs

SELECT TO_CHAR( SUM(sal), 'L999G999D99') Total FROM EMP

U have to alter the seesion by setting nls_currency to Rs and run ur query
