2.I think thats "ping",.........Traceroute is a TCP/IP utility which allows the user to determine the
route packets take to reach a particular host. traceroute works by increasing
the "time to live" value of each successive packet sent.
The traceroute utility uses these returning packets to produce a list of hosts that the packets
have traversed en route to the destination. traceroute may not list the real hosts, it indicates
that the first host is at one hop, the second host at two hops.. IP cannot guarantee that all the
packets take the same route.

can any one tell me what is meant by spooling in operating system concept??
Spooling is (Simultaneous Peripheral Operations OnLine) The overlapping of low-speed operations with normal processing. Spooling originated with mainframes in order to optimize slow operations such as reading cards and printing. Card input was read onto disk and printer output was stored on disk. In that way, the business data processing was performed at high speed, receiving input from disk and sending output to disk. Subsequently, spooling is used to buffer data for the printer as well as remote batch terminals.:)

Hi friend,
spooling refers to the process of putting instructions or something that needs to be done into memory or on storage until the program or computer is ready to execute those instructions.
Its an Acronym for simultaneous peripheral operations on-line, spooling refers to putting jobs in a buffer, a special area in memory or on a disk where a device can access them when it is ready. Its useful because devices access data at different rates.
The buffer provides a waiting station where data can rest while the slower device catches up.
Thanks,
Rijus.
