    win xp

    can win xp install on a Pentium III processor 800 ED (133 x 6)

    Yes WIN XP U CAN but need to go high ram so that applns are faster and u did nt mention the cache memry which actually affects speed of system.otherwise u can install WIN XPon pentuim 3 systems.

    Thanks for your valuable reply. RAM on my comp. is 192 MB but i do not the cache memory from where we see the cache memory. Pls reply me.

    Well Sakshi, Chache will be on your processor. If you just reffer to your Processor manual you will come to knoiw the size of L2 Cache. But then, for P3 machines I don't think that will be an issue.

    My friend was running XP on P3 for ages before upgrading to Core 2 Duo. But, I feel you should consider an upgrade now. You will get much better PCs if you are ready to shell out 10-12,000 INR.

    You can comfortable install Win XP. But if you need better performance, you should upgrade your RAM to 512MB or higher.
