    What format of Sysdate will come if we write this query? Select sysdate from Dual;

    The format of sysdate is (mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss AM/PM)

    give the following command and get the format of data ,what ever u want:-

    alter session set nls_date_format='DD-MM-YYYY'

    You may use the above shown ALTER command to change the date format every time you want it.

    The default date format is 'DD-MON-RR'

    which can be changed by useing the alter command.

    Alter session set nls_date_format='format....'
