Thread: Island Problem

Suppose you got a treaure map..but its just a letter its written dere that on an island there are three things: a palm tree, a coconut tree and a cannon 1)start from cannon and start moving towards palm tree( count ur steps). Now turn left and move same number of steps and mark the point u reached as x 2)start from cannon and start moving towards coconut tree( count ur steps). Now turn right and move same number of steps and mark the point u reached as y treasure is hidden below the centre of line joining the point x and y now u went to the island and u saw that there is a palm tree, dere is a coconut tree but there is no cannon !!! how wud u find the treasure?? ps: u cant dig the whole island :d

I want to know Palm tree and cocunut tree are in one axis...
My solution is I assumed the Cocunut tree and palm tree are in the same axis so the mid point is (a/2,a/2) (a is the distance between the palm tree and cocunut tree, assumed cocunut tree is at point (0,0) and palm tree is at point (a,0)). There may be other possibility also. It depends on which quadrant u r choosing.
