It is very hard to do the testing with the incomplete document. But in this case you can suggest any one of the following criteria if you have the requirement incomplete

- you can check with the client or the person responsible for the existence of complete document.
- Get the assistance of the Business Analyst or Subject Matter Expertise for knowing the process flow of the domain
- Get in touch with the people who are in the Project for a quite longer time
- Work in hand to hand with the Development team to know about the logic in which the applicaiton was developed

Adding to sridharrganesan's answer, it also depends on the stage the project is in. If you are just starting off, I doubt it should be any problem at all since most if not all requirements will possibly seem unclear/incomplete. You might have to sit with the client yourself and derive various child requirements from the requirement at hand. I know it is not in your job description but it might just make your job easier. If thats not possible, discuss with your Test Lead/Test Staff and see how the requirement can be handled.

If you are in the middle of the project or late into it, then chances are you will be having a build with you, or an upcoming build. Why not just look at the build, gain some insight into it and write test cases after accompanying yourself with the application? Or, why don't you just write the developer working on that a tiny e-mail seeking their assistance with this particular requirement? There are various ways you can go with this in my opinion..

Yes Manju it is possible to test if the recquirement insufficient ie go for exploratory testing and If requirement is not cleared by client is it possible to complete the testing yes again u have to imagine and think it and say it should be looking like this or it should be function like this advice them
