Thread: On error skip action

I have 3 actions like action1, action2, action3 in action. While executing after completion of action1 execution I want execute action2. while action1 executing if i get any error, how can i skip from that action?

Hey,

U could code a return value for your Action 1 or set a flag variable to "TRUE" incase the last step of your action gets completed successfully.

Trap this flag variable value and verify it at the beginning of your Action 2. Incase it is TRUE, go ahead and proceed with action 2 else stop execution and revert back to the stage required.

But incase you want to continue inspite of an error occuring in Action 1, code an error handler and use the On Error continue statement.

But I would not recommend this unless neccessary.

Thanks for the update.Actually i am new to QTP.could you please tell me how to start learning should i prefer to joing any institute but every body is only teaching the record playback option only & not telling about the scripting to test.Could you help me in this regard.

I have an experience of around 2 yrs in manual testing of web applications please guide me how can i updgrade myself as still i am not earning too good after this experience.

also please explain me the genral QA process in a good company.
