Fish-bone Analysis is a cause and effect analysis tool that helps to identify the problem and causes of the problem using a fish-like structure - the problem is at the head of the fish and the skeleton are the causes.
Example is if an organization is experiencing decline in profit, the possible causes could be increase in cost of production, decline in revenue, competition in the market, substitute for our products etc. This analysis is usually conducted in a brainstorming session.
