Lathe machine can effectively do so. By turning and cutting operation through employing the workpiece in the jig of the machine

Thrust bearing is used when the applied force is parallel to the shaft and bearing axis .
In general most of thrust bearing begin with number 5xxxx and it is for the thrust bearing only , because there are some other types which can handle axial (thrust) and radial loads
Thrust bearings have axial forces also.
