Which protocol is used to communicate between client and isp?
OSPF is used. Because it is considered to be the most efficient IGP(interior gateway protocol). BGP is more widely used as exterior gateway protocol(EGP).
I would assume BGP to communicate with the ISP and IGP to communicate with the hosts internal to the network
