WinRunner is a Functional or Regression Testing tool. There are two modes available Context sensitive and Analog Mode. ontext sensitive mode is used where there is no tracking for mouse coordinates only the functionality. While Analog mode is used where there is a need to track mouse coordinates like images, pictures or digital signatures.GUI maps are used in WinRunner to learn the objects in the application and then play back the recorded script to identify the bugs. TSL is the Test Script Language used with Winrunner.Script generated with recording and can be enhanced by using TSL scripting language which is C like language

Recording plays most important role in winrunner. So, whenever you do recording ; I mean analog recording first shift the screen to a new position , so that you can confirm that analog recording is working well when playback the test.
