    "SDLC [ Software Development Life Cycle ] and software life cylcle models".

    SDLC is the name given to the development process of software. There are many models to choose from for the process of developing software. Examples of models are waterfall model, OO model, iternation model, etc...

    Software Engineering by Roger Pressman is a better reference book.

    SDLC stands for Software Development Life Cycle and the software life cycles models are the different models( like the waterfall model, spiral model, iterative model) that describe the approach to software development.
    thus it can be quoted that software life cycle models frame approaches for realising the SDLC..
