    Re: testing

testing is not advisable always. It has be calculated againist the project budget and we have to conclude if it is feasible enough for the time factor, expenses and management.

    Re: testing

    hi friend,

well i do not agree with amarreddy. till now i have not seen any product delivered to cleint without testing. testing will always be done.

well there are lot of limitations on testing, and most of the things u will find on the net to read.

well, the biggest limitation is that, no product/application in this world is 100%bug free. which means, the testing was not done properly.

even six sigma guidelines do not say that the product/appl. will be 100% bug free.it says that a process must not produce more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities.

bugs will be always there, but hidden. thats it.

and i do think that there can be any other limiation bigger then this.

    regards,
    RSY

No product can be tested 100%.
    Testing never-never ends.
Even we are not getting any bug, still we can't say that there is no bug.

    these are testing limitations.

    Re: testing

    Hi Aarusa,
Testing is a never ending task, which in itself is its biggest limitation. In fact, in the testing arena, there comes a time when the test team have to give the go-ahead sign for the product. It all boils down to the amount of time the test team gets to test. Again, no matter how much skilled workforce the team has, one can never be 100% sure as to whether the product is bug free or not.

Testing can never end... that is correct... but the testing activities are believed to be completed after a sign-off from the Biz team.

Lack of WILL POWER has caused more failure than
    lack of INTELLIGENCE or ABILITY.

    Hi,

There is no limitations to testing and a software can not be qualified as 100% Bug free. But following are some of the constraints where the Testing is limited :

    - Time constraint
    - Project Budjet
    - When all the test cases are executed and very minimal chances of getting failed test cases
    - All the functionalities in the application are tested and all of them passes
    - All the defects are retested and closed
