Re: Next number in the series...

    HI All,

    Th answer is 729.

The logic is of two steps :-

    1) First of all subtract the first number from second, second from third, third from fourth and so on. You will be left with 1, 2, 9, 18, 81....

    2) The last step is divide second number by first, third by second and so on. You will automatically find the next number.

    James, please confirm.

    Thanks,
    Nikhar

Smile Re: Next number in the series...

    Hi All,

    Finally i got the answer......

The next number in the series is 224.

    Explanation....

    The Given Series is 1,2,4,13,31,112,...

    Actually the series is 1,2,4,8,16,32,....

James convert these numbers into the base 5.

    it means ......

    5 | 8
    ----
    1 - 3

    5 | 16
    -----
    3 - 1

    5 | 32
    -----
    5 | 6 - 2
    ----
    1 - 1

    5 | 64
    ----
    5 | 12 - 4
    ----
    2 - 2

    So this series going like.. 1, 2, 4, 13, 31, 112, 224, 1003,.....
