    Question on equivalence class partitions

    If a candidate is given an exam of 40 questions should get 25 marks to pass (61%) and should get 80 % for distinctions.
    What is equivalence class partitions.

    Case_1: Assuming no decimal allowed


    -1 or less than 0 (though not possible as marks are always positive, considered for EP for negative test scenario.)
    0 to 24 (Fail)
    25 to 31 (Pass)
    32 to 40 (Distinction)
    above 40 (negative test scenario.)


    Case_2: If decimal allowed in marks


    less than 0.0 (negative test scenario)
    1.0 to 24.9 (Fail)
    25.0 to 31.9 (Pass)
    32.0 to 40.0 (Distinction)
    40.01 (negative test scenario)

    Equivalence class for fail:

    less than 1.0 -> Invalid Class
    between 1.0 and 24.9 -> Valid Class
    above 24.9 -> Invalid Class


    Equivalence class for Pass:

    less than 25.0 -> Invalid Class
    between 25.0 and 31.9 -> Valid Class
    above 31.9 -> Invalid Class


    Equivalence class for Distinction:

    less than 32.0 -> Invalid Class
    between 32.0 and 40.0 -> Valid Class
    above 40.0 -> Invalid Class
