    peep sound problem...

    hi friends,

    I hear three peep sound continuosly when i start my system. Is anybody know what is the problem ? Someone says it should be a power problem. Is it true ?

    Well, these beep sounds have a meaning. Your motherboard manual should help you with that. Under normal successful boot up, you should hear a single beep sound. If you recieve two beeps in very quick succession it usually means some jumper connection is loose.

    if that beep sound is longer ones or shorter ones
    if they are longer ones, problem is with your VGA card
    if they are shorter ones, replace the ram with another ram sims and try.

    Hi Suresh,

    No beeps - short, no power, bad cpu/mb, loose peripherals
    one beep - everything is normal and computer posted fine
    two beeps - post/cmos error
    one long beep, one short beep - motherboard problem
    one long beep, two short beeps - video problem
    one long beep, three short beeps - video problem
    three long beeps - keyboard error
    repeated long beeps - memory error
    continuous hi-lo beeps - cpu overheating
